 Its ok, but doesn't work fine, SCAN function doesn't works July 28, 2010

Hi there, the product seems to be very nice and have useful functions, but one of the most importants to prevent battery goes out is the SCAN function that scan over all the cameras and make a Beep and activates a specific camera when some noise is detected, in my case that function doesn't work, therefore I need to have the display active all the time if I want to check if something is wrong there and you can't be sure if you have more that one camera installed.
I have contacted support service as specified on the documentation that arrived, but they doesn't answer and the chat function is offline all the time.
My comments, maybe check other brand, it seems to see a serious company but they doesn't, and product doesn't work as announced.

Great picture.
Great utility.
Good sound.
We use it every day and even take it with us when we travel so we can be in someone else's home without having to run into the baby's room during dinner to check he is ok.
In the days when the baby was first born and we were nervous parents, it was wonderful to lie warm in bed and be able to see all was ok and even that he was breathing.
It is good to be able to see what he is doing. Are his eye's open? Is he wriggling? We can judge if he needs us to go in and gently stroke his head and will then go back to sleep. Rather than wait for him to wake fully from a dream and start the feed-soothe-back to bed routine.
If you can afford it and have no qualms about "baby privacy issues", this is the device for you.

I read many reviews before getting the Lorex product, and saw that many folks out there encountered poor reception and poor image problems with various products. For that reason I focused on the highest resolution available in the market, and it was well worth the extra 25% of the price.
The Lorex product works exactly as advertised! Surprisingly satisfying video for a cordless system! Good color, good contrast.
It works well in the room with lights on (I didn't try dark conditions as I don't need that) as well as outside.
The whole thing can be totally cordless, which for me was crucial. The monitor simply charges while on the cradle, and the camera takes regular batteries in its base and works flawlessly. (The camera obviously works on direct power as well)
Highly recommended !

It is tough finding a good, secure, video baby monitor...I am still looking.
Too bad for the audio portion of this product. It is simply not suited as a baby monitor. All of the other reviews regarding the audio timing out and its overall lack of sensitivity are spot on. It really is too bad. I have done a mountain of research and had such high hope for this product. Perhaps if they straighten out the audio, I will be back as a customer.
Of note: I called the company twice to ask for their help in case there was something I was missing is a setting somewhere (even though I read the instructions cover to cover) and have spent over 1 hour on hold listening to Kenny G...enough time actually to do some work, file the return with Amazon, package the product and write this review. WEAK!

Upon receiving this monitor (after returning a system that hooked up to my TV to view the child) I was so impressed! Exactly what we were looking for with only one flaw that we could see, we wanted to be able to talk back into the room. But not too big of a deal. The picture is GREAT!! It hooks up so easily, works well for naps!
BUT come night time, the sound is not audible. Great if there is nothing going on, but we need to know when our son is moving and awake, we don't just want to be alerted when he is crying. The reason we bought this is that he recently had a seizure and we want to be alerted to movement (audibly) and then be able to look at the screen to see what is going on. With this, if he tosses and turns you can NOT hear it. He listens to a soothing CD on a very low volume for naps and the camera is mounted on the player and you do not hear the CD at all either. So it really does not pick up sound good.
Like other reviewers have said, if you could control this feature, it would be a great monitoring system and worth 5 stars, but with the sound the way it is (or isn't) you are not going to know when your child is awake or moving, unless they make a loud sound to alert you and you could probably hear that without the monitor. So sadly, we are returning this and the search continues for something that will meet our needs. :(
